About Mitch

Mitchell Menik has been serving as a Yoga and Tai Chi/Qi Gong instructor since 2001. Mitch has been leading from 6 to as many as 20 classes per week on a regularly scheduled basis. When you count his actual instruction hours, they total more than 7000 documented hours. Mitch also enjoys performing in various special events and as a guest speaker for your next event!

Mitch’s Yoga & Tai-Chi, Founder and Instructor – March 2003 to leading Yoga, Tai Chi/QiGong, and Bone Strengthening, Stretch & Balance classes in various locations throughout the greater Las Vegas community. Mitch has also served as volunteer staff for Shim Sung (Find Your True-Self) and other special training, having served as a Dahn Master volunteering for Dahn Yoga & Tai Chi centers in the Las Vegas metro area.

Additional background

Mitch began his Tai Chi practice in 1975 and eventually mastered the 108-forms of Tai Chi Chuan Wu style while taking several years of private one hour lessons five days per week from Sifu James Ho and Sifu Ben Lew (students of Grand Master C.K. Chu) with an additional 1-2 hours of practice each day preparing for the next day’s lesson. Mitch subsequently trained under Grand Master C.K. Chu in New York City.

Mitch commenced training in Dahn Yoga & Tai Chi in early 2001, completing leveled workshops within the program to integrate the mind, body and spirit through holistic health and wellness. Mitch Certified in Dahn Hak’s teaching and energy healing techniques in 2002, after 6 months of daily intensive training (500+ hours) with special group training under Grand Master Il Chi Lee. Mitch subsequently certified as a Dahn Yoga and Tai Chi Master.

Holistic Fitness Credentials
  • Mitch has been certified as a Tai Chi and Qigong Master Instructor by the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association.
  • Mitch has more than 20 years serving as a Group Fitness Instructor.
  • Mitch maintains an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor Certification. ACE is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), including accreditation by the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA).

Mitch also has:

  • ACE Senior Fitness Certification
  • Orthopedic Exercise Specialty Certification
  • Liability insurance through Philadelphia Insurance companies

Additional Information:

  • After beginning his Tai Chi practice in 1975, he mastered the 108 form Wu style of Tai Chi Chuan.
  • He earned the title of Dahn Master and was certified as a Dahn Yoga & Tai Chi Holistic Fitness Instructor.
  • Mitch also instructs specific Bone Strengthening classes to help prevent and manage Osteoporosis but provides the same benefit through all of his classes.
  • He has been teaching Yoga, Qigong, and Meditation classes since 2001.
  • He works with age 55+ active seniors and 65+ seniors in assisted living in private and public settings.
  • Mitch’s primary goal and focus are to help others relax by quieting their mind, with a general focus on deep diaphragmatic breath work within the postures. Mitch utilizes both dynamic and static stretching in his classes.
  • Mitch’s focus is on the Mind and Body. It is an energy-based or “Chi Yoga” modeled from both Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga.

Mitch’s business model is to be paid by the hosting facility so that their residents can have free-of-charge classes.
